Cookie policy

Last updated 2 November 2026

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. This page lists every cookie and similar piece of storage viksharma.com uses, what each one is for and how long it lasts.

In short: we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful, so we can improve the site. It is on from your first visit unless you switch it off. There is no advertising on this site and no marketing cookies.

How we use cookies

UK law allows cookies that are used only to count visits and improve a website without asking first, as long as you are told about them and can switch them off easily and at any time. Our analytics works on that basis.

Google signals and all data sharing with Google are switched off, and no advertising cookies are ever set.

Your cookie settings

You can switch analytics off, or back on, at any time. The Cookie settings link is at the foot of every page, or use the button below. Your choice is saved on your device and applies to every page.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works if you do.

Strictly necessary

These are saved in your browser storage, not sent to us, and are needed for the site to remember your choices. They are always on.

vs_cookie_consent_v1Until you change it

Remembers your cookie settings, so we respect your analytics choice on every page.

vs-themeUntil you change it

Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme.

vs-text-sizeUntil you change it

Remembers the text size you chose.

Analytics

Set by Google Analytics on viksharma.com. You can switch these off in Cookie settings, and they are deleted when you do.

_ga2 years

Tells one visitor from another, so we can count visits without knowing who you are.

_ga_CEN9L4573L2 years

Keeps track of your current visit, such as how many pages you have viewed.

Third-party content

Some content on the site comes from other providers. They control their own cookies, not us.

Doctify: the patient ratings panel is loaded from Doctify, which may set its own cookies when it loads. See the Doctify cookie policy.
Google Maps: the location map only loads if you choose Show map. Google may then set its own cookies. See how Google uses cookies.
Google Fonts: our fonts are loaded from Google. This sets no cookies, but your browser connects to Google to fetch them.

We will update this page if the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
